Not to talk about taxes AGAIN but apparently Fox News is fucking up on marginal tax rates unsurprisingly and they have a MASSIVE viewerbase so now tons of people think a 70% marginal tax rate means you get 70% of your wages taken.
Not to be authoritarian on main but I’d shut the station down if I could, it’s ridiculous propaganda.
This is such simple economics but apparently lying is 100% more effective than learning about taxes
my policy for “they’re just doing it for attention” has always been and always will be “then someone needs to pay attention to them”
I’ve always thought this
Let me tell you about the time I worked as a computer teacher for a small private school. My first day went well, but in the staff room that day I was told I was lucky that this one kid was out sick. No one could control him.
Next week, he was in. It took me 10 minutes to determine that I was dealing with a 10 year old kid who was incredibly intelligent, more than a little bored, and loved being the center of attention.
He was also black. I say this because I think that a intelligent, somewhat bored, attention-seeking white kid might have been treated differently.
So, day one I made him sit by himself where no one could see him to stop him from taking over the class (which he was clearly used to doing).
Day two: I paid close attention to when he finished (not surprising, he was first and did everything correctly). I immediately told him he was helping me, and paired him with a struggling student.
My hunch was right; he made a excellent teacher. He thrived on having this other kid’s attention. He wasn’t bored. He was one of my best students.
He was a bright kid. And he needed people to pay attention to him and would settle for any kind of attention he could get. But when he was able to channel that positively, he was a great student and a really helpful classmate.
Legit it’s so wild how liberals work. No one could say a single thing bad about democrats in 2018 or you were a Russian oysop trying to undermine the midterms. Midterms past and now people want to address legitimate concerns they have about the party they voted for again but now we can’t say anything devisive because it’s almost 2020.
Liberals never want you to be able to question them and never want your concerns to be addressed. That’s not how you run a sustainable party and the big shake up with all the women and people of color voted into the house happened explicitly because people didn’t want the same party establishment inpower. The reason why so many young people and women of color won is because people were sick of not having their issues addressed. Remember that the DNC worked AGAINST Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez until it became clear that she was the winner, that Nancy Peolsi and other vanguards of the party suppressed talented younger people. People aren’t dissatisfied with the status quo for no reason.
People aren’t bringing up issues with the democrats because they want the republicans to win, they want to feel represented by the party they are told represents them. You can’t keep telling people their problems aren’t important enough to handle because that’s a surefire way to lose support. If the midterms proves anything, it shows that people want to tackle the problems in the party not push them under the rug because of each luming election.
